Virginia Beach Events announces 2024 schedule

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The 2024 event line-up for Beach Events is jam-packed.

The city of Virginia Beach and Beach Events unveiled a lineup featuring concerts, festivals and more entertainment. Beach Events are sponsored by the city of Virginia Beach and produced by IMGoing.

“Our team at IMGoing and the city of Virginia Beach have worked closely together for 28 years to provide unique and family-friendly entertainment along the Oceanfront,” said Director of Beach Events William Younce.

Classics include the Oceanfront Concert Series Live! On Atlantic and Holiday Lights at the Beach. Between the springtime kickoff and the holidays, there are many events for residents and visitors to enjoy.

This past year included a lot of success for Beach Events with inaugural events and more.

“The 2023 calendar of events was embraced by visitors and the local community alike with sold out crowds for Bulls and Barrels Beach Rodeo and Monsters on the Beach, and record-breaking attendance for VA Beach Jeep Fest and our weekly Beach Blanket Movie nights,” said Younce.

In 2024, Beach Events is continuing their success with a variety of events. Here is a look at some of the events on this year’s schedule:

Revisit your annual favorites and enjoy newer offerings.

“This year, we’re bringing back all the favorites and making them bigger and better than ever. From local historical short stories played out along the boardwalk to major weekend-long music festivals and everything in between,” Younce said, “there are lots of opportunities to enjoy one-of-a-kind entertainment experiences along the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.”

The first event to kick off the season will be the Bulls and Barrels Beach Rodeo on April 13-14, 2024. This year will bring even more seating and a larger festival area. Watch extreme bull riding, barrel racing and mini bull riding. The top bull riders in the nation will compete right on the oceanfront for prize money and more. Don’t miss your chance to get a spot to catch all the action. Tickets will be on sale starting Friday.

This year will also celebrate 25 years of Pungo Offroad Monsters on the Beach, presented by Eastern Truck & Accessories. On May 17-19, watch the biggest Monster Truck show in the Mid-Atlantic. See the trucks take on bumps, dips and jumps. Tickets will go on sale Feb. 23.
