SURRY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A trailer came loose from a truck Thursday in Surry County, hitting power lines on the side of the road.

Virginia State Police said the trailer of a 2019 Freightliner had become separated from the tractor after the kingpin was worn down. When the trailer separated, it ran off the roadway and struck a utility pole.

There have been no reports of injuries or power outages due to the crash.

There was no indication of speed, drugs, or alcohol being a factor in the incident.
