COURTLAND, Va. (WAVY) — The photo enforcement that was slated to begin near the Capron Elementary School zone on Sunday will be postponed.
Due to unforeseen technical issues with the school zone signs, the photo enforcement program is experiencing delays.
The purpose of the speed cameras is to encourage safe driving habits and ensure the safety of the students and staff, according to the Southampton County Sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office, in partnership with Southampton Public Schools Division and Blue Line Solutions, are working to resolve the issues.
A new date for the photo enforcement to begin has not been set. An update will be provided once the problems with the signs are corrected.
