SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Suffolk police are investigating Monday morning’s shooting as an attempted murder-suicide, police said.

Around 6:20 a.m. on Monday, police were alerted through a RAVEN gunshot alert at the 300 block of Linden Avenue. They arrived to find a man dead inside the house and a woman in serious condition after being shot.

When officers arrived, there were two children in distress on the porch of the residence.

The woman was listed in “critical but stable” condition as of Monday morning. The deceased male was identified as 30-year-old Frenando Holland.

The investigation revealed that Holland shot the woman, with whom he was in a relationship before shooting himself. Holland, the woman and the juveniles were all residents of the home where the incident occurred. The juveniles are safe and staying with family members.
