Man charged in deadly shooting, hit-and-run in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A 19-year-old was killed after a shooting and hit-and-run in Chesapeake on Wednesday, Oct. 11. One man was arrested in connection to the incident.

Chesapeake police responded to gunshots being heard at an apartment complex on the 1300 block of Canal Drive.

The call came in just before 6:10 p.m. Officers arrives to find an adult male had been shot. He was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim succumbed to his injuries while at the hospital.

The victim was identified to be 19-year-old Mika Satterfield.

23-year-old Kelvin C. Harris was arrested and charged in connection to the shooting. Harris is being charged with second-degree murder, firearm use in commission of a felony and fail to report.

The suspect allegedly struck the victim with his car while leaving the scene.
