CAPE CHARLES, Va. (WAVY) — A 22-year-old quadriplegic man is seeking help from the community.

In August of 2022, Kaleb Robinson was paralyzed from the shoulders down after a tragic car accident, which left him with a shattered C4 vertebra.

Following coverage of extensive medical expenses, surgeries and home alterations, Robinson’s family could only afford a makeshift handicap van to accommodate him. It has a 70-pound lift that has to be manually put in place upon entrance and exit of the vehicle. Robinson also requires at least three parking spaces to unload.

In an effort to regain his mobility and independence, Robinson’s family is asking for the public’s assistance in raising money to get a fully accessible vehicle for him.

A fundraiser is being held on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Scott Farms Grader Shed to help meet Robinson’s needs. The event will consist of live music, delicious foods, drinks and a silent auction. All ticket sales will go directly towards purchasing a fully accessible vehicle for Robinson.
