Portsmouth activates cooling stations amid high heat index forecast

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The city of Portsmouth is activating cooling stations due the high heat index forecast for Hampton Roads between Aug. 1 and Aug. 3.

In a news release, the city advised residents to limit outdoor activities as much as possible to reduce the risk of heat-related illness.


The cooling stations will be open on the following days and times:
