Suspect identified after deadly shooting on Dale Dr. in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A man is dead after an overnight shooting on Dale Drive and police have identified a suspect in this case.

Police responded to a call on the 20 block of Dale Drive on May 25 around 1:19 a.m., and when officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.


Medics pronounced the man dead on the scene. Police have identified the man as 33-year-old Modrelle Britt.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help with finding 35-year-old Tony Alonzo Collins Jr., aka Knuckles.

He has been charged with 1st degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, malicious shooting, cut, or stab, and possession of firearm by a convicted felon in connection to the homicide.

Collins is considered armed and dangerous. He is around 6 feet tall and weighs around 180 pounds.
