PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Police in Portsmouth are searching for a person of interest in connection to a double shooting that happened in late January.

According to officials, the shooting happened around 7:10 p.m. on January 24 at the River Walk Inn in the 300 block of Effingham Street. That is near the intersection of Crawford Parkway, as well as the intersection of Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.

When police arrived on the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. His injuries are believed to be life-threatening. A 17-year-old female was reported as a walk-in at a local hospital with a non life-threatening gunshot wound.

Both victims were in stable condition two days after the shooting, police said.

On February 12, police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest in connection to the shooting.
