PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY)– Police are investigating an overnight shooting in Portsmouth.

Portsmouth police responded to the shooting around 12:30 a.m. Monday near the 1100 block of Virginia Avenue at the London Oaks Apartments.

When units arrived at the location, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

On Friday, police confirmed investigators are now searching for 30-year-old Kevon Donte’ Sexton in connection with this shooting.

He has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding, robbery with a firearm, malicious shooting, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, firearm by felon, and reckless handling of a firearm.
