PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Former NFL player Devon Still spoke at the second annual Cancer Awareness Gala on Sunday.
The event took place Sept. 15 from 6-9 p.m. at the Luxury Affairs Event Center in Portsmouth. During the event, advocates, survivors, families and supporters all came together in order to bring awareness and raise funds towards cancer research.
All proceeds went towards the MomAdvocate Foundation’s Fuel for the Journey programs and initiatives.
Guest speaker Still became an advocate for pediatric cancer awareness after being inspired by his daughter Leah’s own battle.
