POQUOSON, Va. (WAVY) – Crews with the Poquoson Fire and Rescue Department responded to a boat fire on Sunday.

According to officials, on Nov. 17, Poquoson Marine 1 was asked to assist with a boat fire near the mouth of the Rappahannock River.

Crews arrived to the scene and found a 34-foot vessel which was heavily damaged. The owner of the boat was uninjured and helped out of the water by a nearby person.

York County Fire and Life Safety, the U.S. Coast Guard, Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Virginia Marine Police were also called to assist with the incident.
