NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A 65-year-old man was charged with a DWI in connection to a driver running into a residence with his car in Newport News on Friday, police said.

Around 7:40 a.m., police responded to an individual driving erratically. Upon arrival, officers located a man who, police said, allegedly drove his vehicle into a residence on the 1300 block of Lake Drive. There were no injuries.

The driver, Christopher Hyde, was taken into custody and charged with DWI.
