NPD: Man who died after crash in Norfolk was involved in a hit-and-run

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk Police told 10 On Your Side the man who died after a Saturday morning crash in Norfolk was involved in a hit-and-run prior to the crash.

Around 2:10 a.m. police responded to the 3800 block of Robin Hood Road for the report of a vehicle accident.


When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The man, identified by police as 30-year-old Deante J. Fields, was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police said Fields hit two other vehicles leading up to the crash on Robin Hood Road, making it a hit-and-run.

An investigation is underway and anyone with information about this crash is urged to contact the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
