Police: Man hurt in Suffolk after shooting

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man was hurt in Suffolk after a shooting on Wellons Street on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Around 4:40 p.m., Suffolk police responded to the 400 block of Wellons Street in reference to a gunshot wound victim.

Upon arrival, officers located a man who had a single gunshot wound to his lower left leg. He was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

No further information regarding suspects has been released.
