VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Police confirmed the pedestrian hit by a vehicle Friday evening in Virginia Beach has died.
The woman was identified as 77-year-old Lucena Lynch.
Police responded to the scene of a crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Lynnhaven Parkway and Lamplight Lane. Police got the call around 7:45 p.m. for the crash, and the driver stayed at the scene.
VBPD said northbound lanes of Lynnhaven Parkway were closed from Fern Ridge Road to Lamplight Lane. No charges have been filed at this time, but the incident remains under investigation.
