Police: 2 charged after May homicide in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Two people have been charged nearly four months after a man was shot and killed on Wilcox Ave. in Portsmouth.

Portsmouth police announced on Monday that 25-year-old Keonte Jamal Whitfield was charged with first-degree murder and other gun-related charges in the case. He’s now in custody.


Meanwhile 36-year-old Brittane Monique Whitfield was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in the case. She’s expected to voluntary surrender herself to police custody on Monday.

The shooting back on Saturday, May 11, 2024, left 46-year-old Antwain Lamont Terry dead. He was found in the 1200 block of Wilcox Avenue with a fatal gunshot wound.

No other updates have been shared in the case at this time.
