NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – The two people who were killed last week at a Newport News apartment complex have been identified.

Newport News Police on Monday identified the victims as Damari Hall, 18, of Newport News and Alijah Demonte Gilliam, 18, of Newport News.

The two men were shot and killed Thursday evening in the 800 block of Roam Court in Newport News.

Police say officers discovered two adult men suffering from gunshot wounds. Dispatch said the incident happened outside the Westover Station Apartments.

The call came in at 10:06 p.m.

Both men died at the scene. The homicide investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement said there is no suspect information.

Data from the gun violence archive shows this would be the seventh deadly shooting in Newport News so far this year.
