VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – One person was seriously hurt after being struck by a vehicle Saturday evening on Virginia Beach Boulevard in Virginia Beach, according to city police.
The incident took place around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection with Rose Marie Avenue. Police said the pedestrian suffered a head injury and was sent to a local hospital.
The driver of the vehicle, later identified as 30-year-old Reginald Washington, was later found and arrested on felony charges of hit-and-run.
The current condition of the pedestrian is still unknown. Police say the alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash at this time.
