NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man is dead after a shooting on Madison Avenue Sunday night.
Around 10 p.m., Norfolk police responded to the report of a shooting on the 1600 block of Madison Avenue.
When officers arrived on the scene they found a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The man, later identified as 40-year-old James E. Lindsey III, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Photos from the scene show a heavy police presence, with nine evidence markers placed on the ground.
The investigation is still ongoing.
