NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Jim Redick is no longer Norfolk’s director of emergency preparedness and response, the city confirmed Wednesday.
A source provided 10 On Your Side with the email Redick sent to friends and colleagues, stating in part, “I am being led in a different direction, and thus my time as Director of Emergency Preparedness and Response with the city of Norfolk has come to an end.”
In the email, Redick also said he was, “forever thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside some incredible people.”
Redick had served in the role since September 2011, and he was appointed to the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s National Advisory Council in December of 2022.
