NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – As Norfolk gears up for the 2024 holiday season, the city wants residents to know about potential traffic delays the weekend of Nov. 23-24.

During the weekend, the Norfolk Harbor Races and the Grand Illumination Parade will return to the mermaid city, causing traffic delays on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 6-11 a.m. and 3-10 p.m., and on Sunday, Nov. 24 from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Norfolk Police Department will provide traffic support during the weekend, as several street closures are expected to impact the entrances and exits to downtown parking garages.
