NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Police are investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning in Norfolk.

During a press conference on Sunday, Interim Chief of Police Michael Goldsmith said the call for the homicide came in around 2:25 a.m. in the 800 block of North Military Highway.

When they got to the scene, officers found 27-year-old Michael I. Rivera-Rubert. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other information has been released at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
