NORFOLK, Va. – Louise Miller didn’t seem surprised at the multiple bullets that flew through her home on Chesapeake Blvd. on Saturday night.

“This is the third time it’s happened,” she said.

The shots flew through her living room and into her kitchen, damaging her refrigerator, her china cabinet and her stove.

One bullet hit a marmalade jar in her fridge – stopping it from getting to the back room where Miller was resting. Still, others made their way dangerously close to her.

“I was laying back here and the bullet went right across my arm, and I didn’t even know it,” she said.

The shooting happened just before 10 p.m. on Saturday at their home on the corner of Chesapeake Blvd and Harrell Ave. Miller’s son Ralph was walking out to his car when it happened.

“They just started shooting at me,” he said.

“I didn’t know where it was coming from but it was a lot of bullets,” he said.

The family said it wasn’t the first time they’ve been targeted.

“They shot me in my arm two months ago,” Miller said.

While the bullets narrowly missed Miller and his mother, they did plenty of damage to their four cars outside the house.

“I’m getting emotional now, because this don’t make no sense,” Miller said.

The family has lived in the area for 52 years. And they’re hopeful one day it will feel safe again.

“That’s my car shot, my mother’s house, and we just want something done about it. So if it has to be broadcast like this, it has to – because they have to know what’s going on,” Miller said.

Norfolk police are investigating the incident. If you know anything about what happened Saturday night, you are asked to contact Norfolk PD.
