NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police in Norfolk are still investigating a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a man in the Ocean View area on Sunday night.
Authorities say they received a call around 9:30 p.m. for the crash in the 9700 block of Chesapeake Boulevard, near the intersection of E. Ocean View Avenue.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified on Tuesday as 31-year-old Scott M. Haney, of Norfolk.
Investigators believe speed was a contributing factor, but the investigation is ongoing.
