NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Norfolk Public Schools (NPS) announced they will provide free meals to all students through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2024-25 academic school year.
According to a release from NPS, for each school day, all enrolled students will be provided a meal for breakfast and lunch at no charge to the household. A meal application form does not need to be filled out.
NPS released a statement regarding the CEP, which can be read in part below:
All enrolled students attending a Norfolk Public School are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each instructional day of the 2024-2025 academic school year. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application.

Norfolk schools hosting after school programs or activities are also encouraged to participate in the At-Risk Child and Adult Care Foodservice Program (CACFP), which helps to provide snacks or dinner free of charge to students.
