NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The Norfolk Police Department is investigating a fatal crash near Ingleside Elementary School Wednesday morning.
Police said the crash occurred just after 7 a.m., at the intersection of E Virginia Beach Blvd. and Ingleside Road. Police responded to the report of a car that hit a flatbed truck stopped at a traffic signal.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was identified as 50-year-old Shawn D. Comparto of Chesapeake.
The crash remains under investigation by the Norfolk Police Department Auto Squad Unit and Traffic Fatality Team.
