NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A youth football team is being made whole less than 24 hours after 10 On Your Side shared their story.

Coach Glen Yearling of the Berkley Timberwolves reached out to 10 On Your Side after thieves swiped his trailer full of lawn equipment. Yearling’s team started a landscaping and moving business a few years ago in order to help fund their football team and to buy the kids essentials, like clothes and shoes.

Yearling said the estimated cost of stolen equipment comes out to $6,000, but on Wednesday, the team received a miracle.

“Oh, well, you know, God is amazing,” Yearling said. “When, when they took from us, whatever, you know, when they decided to take from us, God sent his angels to replace that, you know, thing. So, by him doing that, we was blessed.”

Dustin Sullivan with Empowering Youth to Serve youth ministry saw WAVY 10’s story about the stolen equipment and decided to help by buying the team new lawn care equipment.

“We just, we heard his story that he’d been out in the community serving for, what, 20 years, and he’s just doing it so humbly, so we want to give back everything and then some,” Sullivan said.

Coach Yearling said this example of giving back empowers the youth by showing them that there is still good in the world and that people care.
