NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Norfolk Police have named a suspect in connection with an overnight shooting in Norfolk.

According to police, the call for the shooting came in around 3:15 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of East Little Creek Road. When police arrived on the scene, they found a man suffering from serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

He was transported to a local hospital.

Authorities have since named Travarish D. Carpenter, 29, of the 1700 block of Holiday Street in Portsmouth as the suspect. He has active warrants for aggravated malicious wounding, attempted malicious wounding, reckless handling of a firearm, discharge of a firearm in a public place and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
