NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — There was a heavy police and search team presence on the Elizabeth River Tuesday night after Norfolk police responded to a report of a woman jumping from the Campostella Bridge.

Police tweeted just after 8 p.m. saying they were investigating. The call reporting the incident came in around 6:40 p.m.

As of 10 p.m., the circumstances of the report were still unclear.

Information passed along to 10 On Your Side from WAVY viewers indicated there was a police presence on the bridge and a helicopter flying over the river.

Police did not release additional information.
