NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A gang member wanted for murdering a Suffolk man in early March has been arrested.

Norfolk police say 24-year-old Thomas Nesmith is facing charges including second-degree murder for the death of Patrick M. Cochrane. 

Cochrane was found shot inside of a car parked in a lot on East Little Creek Road, and died at the hospital. Police say it was later determined Cochrane had been shot the 7900 block of Orchid Avenue.

Three people, including Nesmith, have been charged. Police say Jeremy Harris and Becca Banta were caught not long after the shooting, and charged with second-degree murder.

Before his arrest, it was believed that Nesmith could have in Brooklyn, New York. According to the U.S. Marshals, Nesmith is a known member of the Crips gang.

Nesmith is being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
