Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney accused of contempt of court

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney Ramin Fatehi is scheduled to appear in front of a judge to discuss why he should not be found in contempt of court.

According to court documents, Fatehi’s behavior during a hearing on Feb. 27 is what led to the possible charge.

The paperwork claims that Fatehi “openly insulted and resisted the powers of the court.”

10 On Your Side reached out to Fatehi about the incident, but he said he has “no comment.” We are working to learn more about the circumstances of the incident.

A letter addressed to the Circuit Court claims the Commonwealth’s Attorney Office “has been contacted by an outside individual on behalf of the defendant in order to affect the outcome of this case.”

Fatehi’s hearing is scheduled for March 15.
