NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A multi-vehicle crash on I-64 westbound near Tidewater Drive (mile marker 277) caused delays Tuesday morning.
According to a social media post by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) shortly before 11 a.m., the west left shoulder, left lane, left center lane and right center lane were closed while crews work to clear the road. All lanes have since reopened.
Virginia State Police said at least two people were injured in the crash. Troopers also said one of the vehicles, as evident in the photos, sustained fire damage.
One WAVY 10 viewer sent a photo of the crash, showing an overturned vehicle on fire.
A separate viewer sent video of the crash, which shows heavy smoke and flames covering the road.
A photo provided by VDOT shows a firetruck blocking off the lanes, with several cars scattered throughout the road.
