NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man was shot and killed Christmas night on East Princess Anne Road in Norfolk, police said.
Dispatchers said the call reporting the incident came in around 8:30 p.m. in the 800 block of East Princess Anne Road in Norfolk.
Police said they arrived on the scene to find the man, later identified as 29-year-old Dresean L. Porter, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Loved ones placed posters, balloons, candles, and flowers at a tree to remember Porter.
Neighbors who live nearby didn’t want to speak on camera, but they tell 10 On Your side they heard one loud gunshot and yelling. They also tell us that it’s not unusual to hear gunfire in this area, but they said the holiday homicide is tragic.
