NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police say a 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred overnight in Norfolk.

Emergency communications received the call just before 1 a.m. Wednesday for a shooting in the 600 block of Wiley Drive.

The victim, identified as 31-year-old Eddie M. Jenkins, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Wednesday night that Curtis E. Copeland, 19, had been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Copeland is being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.

Detectives have not released the motive of circumstances in the shooting
