NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police say a teenager was critically injured in a shooting on Atwood Avenue Tuesday night.
Norfolk police said it happened around 9:20 p.m. in the 9200 block of Atwood Avenue, in West Ocean View.
The boy, who is 16 years old, was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries. He remained in critical condition as of Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Police did not give additional details about any suspects. They said “persons” of interest had been detained as of 10:57 p.m. Tuesday.
There was also another shooting in the Ocean View area Tuesday night on Mariners Way. It’s unclear if the two shootings are related at this time.
Three teens have been arrested in connection with that shooting, which left a 40-year-old woman dead.
