NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A sinkhole opened up at the intersection of W. 22nd Street and Omohundro Avenue in Norfolk.
A City spokesperson confirmed the Department of Utilities dispatched a wastewater crew to that location on July 5, where they identified a sewer pipe in need of repair.
A WAVY viewer provided this image of the sinkhole. A couple Lime scooters in the image give a good perspective of the size of the large hole in the road.

One lane of travel is impacted while crews work to repair the broken pipe. The intersection is in between Llewellyn Ave. and Granby St.
The City said the work is expected to be completed by the end of the week.
