Woman dead, man injured in shooting on Berkley Ave in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A shooting in Norfolk left a woman dead and a man injured Monday night.

According to dispatchers, the shooting happened just before midnight on Monday in the 1500 block of Berkley Avenue, near the intersection of Edinburg Avenue. The nearest major roadway is Wilson Road.


When officers arrived on the scene they found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local hospital.

Police say the woman, identified as 32-year-old Deneen C. Lymore, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. The 37-year-old man was treated for non life-threatening injuries.

One man told 10 On Your Side’s KaMaria Braye at the scene that the two victims were his brother and sister.

No further information has been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
