1 dead after crash involving pedestrian on Colley Ave. in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — One person has died after a crash involving a pedestrian on Colley Avenue in Norfolk Monday night, police said.

Norfolk Police said a man, later identified at 61-year-old Leo B. LaRue, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died. The driver of the car stayed at the scene.


The call for the crash came in around 8:50 p.m.

The latest incident involving a pedestrian or cyclist comes as local officials caution them to be mindful of traffic signals, using marked crosswalks and just to use extreme caution when crossing the road.
