NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man is dead following a stabbing at a Tinee Giant on Sewells Point Road, and a suspect is in custody.
On Friday, Norfolk police responded to a report of the stabbing at 7101 Sewells Point Road at approximately 4 p.m.
The victim, later identified as 35-year-old Brandon M. Rhodes of Norfolk, was transported to a hospital where he died from is injuries.
The perimeter of the store was surrounded by police tape. Inquisitive locals crowded the street in an attempt to figure out what happened at their neighborhood convenience store. 10 On Your Side asked if anyone knew what occurred but no one was willing to be interviewed.
10 On Your Side also spotted Ramin Fatehi, the Commonwealth’s Attorney, on scene. He spoke with locals and police before entering into the store.
“I can’t speak to anything further. They have an individual in custody. There is no immediate danger to the public,” said Fatehi.
After an investigation, detectives charged Archie L. Jones, 52, of Norfolk, with second-degree murder. Jones is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
At this time, police have not released the motive or circumstances surrounding this incident.
