NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A woman is expected to recover after being shot in the head Tuesday night after she said a male suspect entered her home on Marshall Avenue.
Medics were already in the area for another call in the 3600 block of Marshall Avenue when the 32-year-old victim approached them, police say.
Her gunshot wound to the head was initially considered life-threatening, but it was downgraded to non life-threatening after she was taken to the hospital.
The victim told police a male suspect entered her home prior to the shooting, but police haven’t released information on who the suspect may be. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
