NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Authorities are investigating a body found in Newport News early Sunday afternoon.
According to dispatch, the call came in at around 12:15 p.m. Sunday afternoon about a suspicious death.
Reports say that an employee from the Super 8 hotel at 6105 Jefferson Avenue found the body and called the police.
The body was found in a ditch behind the hotel and appeared to have been at the location for awhile.
Investigators say the condition of the body is decomposed enough to prevent them from seeing any possible signs of trauma.
The incident remains as an ongoing investigation.
