HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Three people including a juvenile have been arrested after a shooting on March 12 in Hampton that left a 19-year-old with life-threatening wounds.

Police say the 19-year-old was in the 2300 block of West Mercury Boulevard around 9:30 p.m. when the shooting occurred.

They say the man was exchanging gunfire with the suspects in a shopping center parking lot when he was struck by a bullet.

He was taken to the hospital with injuries that first responders considered to be life-threatening at the time.

On March 24, police announced that Alyssa Quercia, a 21-year-old Hampton woman, Kamal Hill, an 18-year-old Hampton man, and a 17-year-old male from of Newport News were arrested.

Quercia is charged with one count of malicious wounding, one count of conspiracy to commit malicious wounding one count of attempted malicious wounding, one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and one count of conspiracy to use a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Hill was charged with one count of malicious wounding, one count of attempted malicious wounding, one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and two counts of shooting in public.

The male juvenile was charged with one count of aggravated malicious wounding, two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, one count of attempted maiming, one count of shooting in public and one count of possession of a firearm by a juvenile.
