NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Newport News Police said a man injured in a shooting Thursday night has died.
Police responded to the first block of Teardrop Lane around 7:50 p.m. Thursday for a report of a shooting.
Officers arrived to find a man with gunshot wounds.
He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries, police announced Friday morning.
The victim was 24 years old. Police have identified him as Dequane Christopher Johnson, of Newport News.
Suspect information has not been released.
The investigation is ongoing.
