NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A 19-year-old man is dead after a fatal shooting in Newport News.
Around 9:10 p.m. Sunday, Newport News Police responded to the 7700 block of Jarvis Place for reports of a shooting.
The first officer arrived on the scene and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say he died at the scene. Police later identified the victim as 19-year-old Rasheed Caudle.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident and have no suspect information at this time.
Detectives canvassed the area, and forensics were on the scene processing evidence.
