NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – The Newport News Fire Department responded to a car crashing into a commercial building on Tuesday.

According to officials, two people were injured after a car crashed into a shopping complex in the 11000 block of Jefferson Avenue on Feb. 13 just before 4:30 p.m.

Both of the individuals injured were transferred to a local hospital and are said to be in stable condition.

Fire crews remained on scene for about 2 1/2 hours.

Officials say the crash caused all businesses in the shopping complex to lose water.

Newport News Police are handing the investigation into the cause of the crash.
