NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Newport News police are investigating after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash Tuesday night.
Police say the crash happened around 5:26 p.m. on Jefferson Avenue in front of the Regency Square Apartments. The motorcyclist, 32-year-old Cody Bamburg of Newport News, died less than an hour later at the hospital.
The investigation so far shows Bamburg was heading south on Jefferson when he was struck by a Ford van that was crossing the south lanes of Jefferson Avenue.
No charges have been filed at this time, but the investigation is ongoing, police say.
