NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A Menchville High School student has died following a medical emergency earlier Tuesday, a Newport News Public Schools official confirmed.
A student experienced a medical emergency just before school dismissed for the day, according to Michelle Price, executive director of public information and community involvement for Newport News Public Schools.
Staff members tended to the student until paramedics arrived, and the student was taken to the hospital, where that person died Tuesday evening, Price said.
