JBLE invites local students to design first life-size mascot

FORT EUSTIS, Va. (WAYV) – Your child could become a part of of Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE) history.

The 633d Air Base Wing invited Hampton Roads schools in the peninsula region to design the first JBLE life-size mascot.

The deadline for submissions is Feb. 29.

Include the following with your submission:

  1. Hand-drawn or digital image of mascot submission directly on form, or attached to entry form.
  2. Description of what inspired your design.
  3. Completed entry form with all sections completed and signature of parent or guardian

Col. Matthew Altman, JBLE installation commander, will present prizes to the finalists in the elementary, middle, and high school categories. The grand-prize winner being recognized during an on-base ceremony at a later, unannounced, date.

The winner of the mascot design contest will have their design made into a life-size mascot, which will be featured at JBLE events.

“We are committed to enriching the culture and connectedness we have with our Hampton Roads community members and extending the mascot design contest to local schools gives our community a chance to leave a lasting impression on JBLE’s legacy,” the base stated in a news release.
