HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — The suspect, identified in connection to a shooting on Valentine’s Day at a Hampton Wingstop, was confirmed to be a former employee by police.
The shooting took place at the Wingstop on Coliseum Crossing. The victim was identified as Travell Lavar Giles, and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Preliminary investigations revealed the two knew each other, and were involved in a verbal altercation before the suspect displayed a gun and shot the victim, police said.
Police have said they are not planning to release the name of the suspect until warrants have been obtained.
